Support yourself, support others
Our roles, whilst rewarding, can be stressful as well as physically and emotionally draining. It’s important to remember to recharge to avoid burnout.
Typical symptoms of burnout are:
- Sleep problems
- Weakened immune system
- Digestive issues
- Lack of appetite
- Weight gain
- Feeling overwhelmed and helpless/hopeless
- Social isolation
Your body has a way to combat stress, the “relaxation response,” regulated by the parasympathetic nervous system.
We all probably tell our patients or clients “you can activate the relaxation response through mind-body practices such as yoga, tai chi, meditation, and deep breathing exercises”.
Do we practice what we preach?
We tend to be brilliant at supporting others and forget to support ourselves. We hope that these sessions will encourage you to be better at listening to yourself and your bodies, take your own advice and find some time to be.
A way to release is to share in a safe space and we will hold that space for you.
Meetings are every 28th of the month at 6pm on Zoom, click here to register.
Join us once a month to connect, heal, process & enjoy this space.
