Fundraising and Development Lead Volunteer Role
We seek an enthusiastic and motivated individual to take on the Fundraising and Development Lead Volunteer role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in fundraising, project management, and organisational development. Through on-the-job training and support, you will have the chance to develop invaluable skills while contributing to our organisation’s long-term sustainability and growth.
Time commitment: 2 hours per week (Thursday or Friday preferred but flexible working required due to the job nature).
Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising Strategy Development:
– Work closely with the leadership team to understand and implement our fundraising strategy.
– Learn to identify and research potential funding sources, including individual funders, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
– Assist in maintaining a funding database tracking donor information and donation history.
2. Funder Cultivation and Stewardship:
– Develop skills in building and nurturing relationships with existing and prospective donors through effective communication and engagement.
– Support the organisation of fundraising events, campaigns, and other initiatives to raise funds and awareness.
– Ensure timely acknowledgement and recognition of donations, fostering a positive donor experience.
3. Project Development and Implementation:
– Contribute to conceptualising and planning new projects supporting the organisation’s mission.
– Work collaboratively with volunteers and members to understand successful project execution and sustainability.
4. Reporting and Communication:
– Learn how to prepare reports on fundraising activities, progress, and results for the organisation’s leadership and stakeholders.
– Maintain transparent communication with funders, informing them about the impact of their contributions.
– Represent the organisation at relevant events and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
– Passion for the organisation’s mission and a commitment to sustainability.
– Strong organisational and time management abilities.
– Willingness to learn and develop fundraising, funder relations, project management, and administration skills.
– Proficiency in using relevant software and databases (training provided).
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
