Update on Our Partnership with Doula UK

Support Me CIC has made the decision not to continue as a course provider for Doula UK.

This decision follows several months of discussion in which we did not feel reassured that DUK’s current direction aligns with our ethos or reflects the values of our organisation.

Why We Made This Decision

After careful consideration, our Leadership Team decided on 11 November 2025 not to renew our contract with DUK. Key reasons include:
  • Public reputation concerns affecting our service users
  • A decline in trainees coming through DUK
  • The low number of our trained doulas choosing to become DUK members
  • A lack of leadership within DUK

What This Means for Our Doulas and Clients

This change does not affect the quality or delivery of our training and mentoring.
All current trainees and trained doulas remain fully supported by Support Me CIC.
Families accessing our services can be confident that our doulas have been trained to a high standard that is:
  • Evidence based
  • Culturally aware
  • Trauma informed
  • Rooted in reflective and ethical practice

Our Training Remains Robust and Comprehensive

Support Me CIC’s doula programme continues to follow a strong, multilayered structure, including:
  • A thorough core curriculum delivered by experienced trainers
  • Group mentoring sessions that build skills, confidence and reflective practice
  • Individual 1-to-1 mentoring during trainees’ first client work
This approach ensures our doulas are well prepared to support families safely, respectfully and compassionately.
