Muslim Village
We started our Muslim Village project to provide culturally-aligned support to Muslim families from pregnancy to the first years of life. Muslim Village promotes conscious motherhood and attachment parenting, breastfeeding and embracing one’s culture whilst offering a range of free services.
We are made up of Muslim mothers and volunteers in the UK, who have lived experience of navigating maternity and postnatal care in the UK that isn’t always inclusive of our faith & cultural identity. We are trained volunteers who understand your needs and help you get through pregnancy, postnatal, breastfeeding and early parenting, whilst holding on to your culture and faith.
We currently have 3 groups running, as well as a WhatsApp community group and an Instagram page. We also offer other free support including access to our comprehensive antenatal course, Bump To Baby.
For another year, we will be running monthly, educational and support sessions for pregnant Muslim women in Nottingham.
The next cohort will be starting from March 2026, these will be run every month on a Thursday between 10.30am-12pm by trained professionals:
26th March – Birth planning & choices
23rd April – Postnatal recovery
21st May – Pain management
25th June – Preparing to breastfeed
23rd July – Emotional wellbeing
