Support Me doula training information session, 15 October 2026 at 6 pm UK time, online.

What makes our doula training different?

Culturally aligned, trauma-informed care is at the heart of our training. We help you develop the knowledge, confidence and understanding to support families with different backgrounds, experiences and needs.

You’ll learn within a community, with space for reflection, shared learning and ongoing support as you begin your doula journey.

What does the course include?

The course combines six months of training with a further six months of mentoring.

You’ll attend two full-day sessions in Newark and four live online classes. Topics include birth physiology, communication, breastfeeding, postnatal recovery and culturally safe care. Mentoring also explores contracts, marketing, professional development and doula self-care.

Culturally Aligned Practice training is included in the course fee.

Who can apply?

You don’t need previous doula experience. We welcome people who are committed to learning and supporting families, particularly those who speak another language or share a cultural or spiritual connection with the communities they hope to support.

Fees and funding

The full course fee is £1,350. Payment plans are available.

Partial funding options cover 25% or 50% of the fee, bringing the cost to £1,012.50 or £675. Funded places are subject to interview and require voluntary client placements. Priority is given to active Support Me CIC volunteers.
